CVE-2022-48966

CVSS v3.1

7.1

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to a bounds checking problem in the mvneta config rss() function, which can lead to an out-of-bounds read. The pp->indir[0] value, coming from the user, is passed to the mvneta percpu elect() function without proper bounds checking, potentially allowing it to exceed the end of the CPU bitmap. This can cause a denial of service.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
