CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A NULL pointer dereference issue has been identified in the Linux kernel, specifically in the nixge hw dma bd release() function. This issue arises when the allocation of priv->rx bd v fails in the nixge hw dma bd init() function, allowing for a potential NULL pointer dereference. To address this, the for() loop with the priv->rx bd v dereference has been moved under a check for its validity. This issue was discovered by the Linux Verification Center with SVACE.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
