CVE-2023-45169

CVSS v3.1

6.2

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions IBM AIX versions 7.2 through 7.3 VIOS version 3.1
Description The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the kernel, which can be exploited by a non-privileged local user to cause a denial of service. This is due to a vulnerability in the pmsvcs kernel extension.
Recommendations For IBM AIX versions 7.2 through 7.3, consider restricting access to the pmsvcs kernel extension as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. For VIOS version 3.1, restrict access to the vulnerable kernel extension to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
