Description
The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the TCP/IP kernel extension of the AIX operating system. This could allow a non-privileged local user to exploit the vulnerability and cause a denial of service.
Recommendations
For IBM AIX versions 7.2 through 7.3, consider restricting access to the TCP/IP kernel extension until a patch is available.
For VIOS version 3.1, consider disabling the vulnerable TCP/IP kernel extension functionality to minimize the risk of exploitation.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
