Description
The issue exists due to insufficient input validation in the Security component of Oracle Java SE and Oracle GraalVM. A low-privileged attacker with logon access to the infrastructure where these products execute can exploit this vulnerability to gain unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all accessible data. This vulnerability can be exploited through APIs in the specified component, for example, via a web service that supplies data to the APIs. It also applies to Java deployments that load and run untrusted code from the internet and rely on the Java sandbox for security.
Recommendations
For Oracle Java SE versions 8u391, 8u391-perf, 11.0.21, 17.0.9, 21.0.1: Update to a version that includes the fix for this vulnerability.
For Oracle GraalVM for JDK versions 17.0.9, 21.0.1: Update to a version that includes the fix for this vulnerability.
For Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition versions 20.3.12, 21.3.8, 22.3.4: Update to a version that includes the fix for this vulnerability.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the vulnerable APIs until a patch is available.
