CVE-2024-20931

CVSS v2.0

7.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Oracle WebLogic Server versions 12.2.1.4.0 through 14.1.1.0.0
Description The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the Core component of Oracle WebLogic Server, allowing an unauthenticated attacker with network access via T3 or IIOP to compromise the server. Successful attacks can result in unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all Oracle WebLogic Server accessible data. Approximately 2,992,153 devices are potentially affected, mainly distributed in the United States, Japan, and other countries.
Recommendations For versions 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.1.0.0, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue, as specified in Oracle's January 2024 patch advisory. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the T3 and IIOP protocols to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using vulnerable API endpoints, such as those related to JNDI injection, until the issue is resolved.
