CVE-2023-3408

CVSS v3.1

4.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions The Bricks theme for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.8.1
Description The issue is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the save settings function, making it possible for unauthenticated attackers to modify the theme's settings. This includes enabling a setting that allows lower-privileged users, such as contributors, to perform code execution via a forged request, granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action like clicking on a link.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 1.8.1, update to a version that includes the fix for the missing or incorrect nonce validation on the save settings function. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the save settings function until a patch is available to prevent modification of the theme's settings by unauthenticated attackers.
