CVE-2023-37573

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions GTKWave version 3.3.115
Description The issue is related to multiple use-after-free vulnerabilities in the VCD get vartoken realloc functionality. A specially crafted .vcd file can lead to arbitrary code execution when opened by a victim, potentially through the GUI's recoder VCD parsing code.
Recommendations For GTKWave version 3.3.115, consider avoiding the use of the GUI's recoder VCD parsing code until a fix is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the opening of .vcd files from untrusted sources to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
