| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
GiveWP plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.33.3
Description
The issue is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the
give sendwp remote install handler function, making it possible for unauthenticated attackers to install and activate the SendWP plugin via a forged request. This can be achieved if an attacker can trick a site administrator into performing an action, such as clicking on a link.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 2.33.3, update to a version that includes the fix for the missing or incorrect nonce validation in the
give sendwp remote install handler function.
As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the give sendwp remote install handler function until a patch is available.Fix
