Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
EventON WordPress plugin versions prior to 4.5.5
EventON WordPress plugin versions prior to 2.2.7
Description
The issue allows high privilege users, such as admins, to perform Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks due to the lack of sanitization and escaping of some settings. This can occur even when the unfiltered html capability is disallowed, for example in multisite setups.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 4.5.5, update to version 4.5.5 or later.
For versions prior to 2.2.7, update to version 2.2.7 or later.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the ability of high privilege users to modify plugin settings until a patch is applied.
