CVE-2023-6621

CVSS v3.1

6.1

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions POST SMTP WordPress plugin versions prior to 2.8.7
Description The issue concerns a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting problem. It arises because the msg parameter is not properly sanitized and escaped before being outputted back on the page. This could be exploited against high-privilege users, such as administrators.
Recommendations For versions prior to 2.8.7, update to version 2.8.7 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the plugin's functionality that outputs the msg parameter until a patch is applied.
