CVE-2023-6737

CVSS v3.1

6.1

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Enable Media Replace plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 4.1.4
Description The issue allows for Reflected Cross-Site Scripting due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping via the SHORTPIXEL DEBUG parameter. This enables unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action, such as clicking on a link. Exploitation requires the attacker to know the ID of an attachment uploaded by the user they are attacking.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 4.1.4, update to a version higher than 4.1.4 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the SHORTPIXEL DEBUG parameter to minimize the risk of exploitation.
