CVE-2023-6968
CVSS v3.1
8.1
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
The Moneytizer plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 9.5.20
Description
The issue is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on multiple AJAX functions, making it possible for unauthenticated attackers to update and retrieve billing and bank details, update and reset the plugin's settings, and update languages, as well as perform other lower-severity actions via a forged request. This can be achieved if attackers can trick a site administrator into performing an action, such as clicking on a link.
Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 9.5.20, update to a version higher than 9.5.20 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the AJAX functions until a patch is available.
Restrict access to the plugin's settings and billing details to minimize the risk of exploitation.
Avoid using the plugin until the issue is resolved.
