| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Custom post types, Custom Fields & more plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 5.0.4
Description
The issue arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied post meta values, allowing authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages. This can lead to the execution of injected scripts whenever a user accesses an affected page.
Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 5.0.4, update to a version later than 5.0.4 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the plugin's shortcode and custom post meta features to minimize the risk of exploitation.
Fix
XSS
