Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Advanced iFrame plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2023.10
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's 'advanced iframe' shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user supplied attributes, such as
advanced iframe. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 2023.10, update to a version later than 2023.10 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the 'advanced iframe' shortcode for users with contributor-level and above permissions until a patch is available.
Fix
