Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
The Essential Blocks – Page Builder Gutenberg Blocks, Patterns & Templates plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 4.4.6
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the Table of Contents block due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 4.4.6, update to a version higher than 4.4.6 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Table of Contents block for users with contributor-level access and above until a patch is available.
Fix
