CVSS v3.1
4.8
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
GigPress WordPress plugin versions 2.3.29 and earlier
Description
The issue allows high privilege users, such as admins, to perform Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks, even when the unfiltered html capability is disallowed, for example in multisite setups. This is due to the plugin not sanitizing and escaping some of its settings.
Recommendations
For versions 2.3.29 and earlier, update to a version that addresses this issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the ability of high privilege users to access and modify the plugin's settings until a patch is available.
Restrict access to the plugin's settings in multisite setups to minimize the risk of exploitation.
