CVE-2024-0203

CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Digits plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 8.4.1
Description The issue is due to missing nonce validation in the digits save settings function, making it possible for unauthenticated attackers to modify the default role of registered users to elevate user privileges via a forged request. This can be achieved if an attacker can trick a site administrator into performing an action, such as clicking on a link.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 8.4.1, update to a version that includes the fix for the missing nonce validation in the digits save settings function. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the digits save settings function until a patch is available.
