CVE-2024-0383

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions WP Recipe Maker plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 9.1.0
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's shortcodes [wprm-recipe-instructions] and [wprm-recipe-ingredients] due to insufficient restrictions on the group tag attribute. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 9.1.0, update to a version that includes the necessary security patches to restrict the group tag attribute and prevent arbitrary web script injection. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the [wprm-recipe-instructions] and [wprm-recipe-ingredients] shortcodes to minimize the risk of exploitation.
