CVE-2024-0506

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Elementor Website Builder plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.18.3
Description The issue is related to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting via the $instance[alt] parameter in the get image alt function due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 3.18.3, update to a version higher than 3.18.3 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the get image alt function until a patch is available. Avoid using the $instance[alt] parameter in the affected function until the issue is resolved.
