Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
The Essential Addons for Elementor plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 5.9.4
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's Filterable Gallery widget due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on the Image URL. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 5.9.4, consider disabling the Filterable Gallery widget until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the Image URL input field to minimize the risk of arbitrary web script injection. Update to a version that includes the necessary input sanitization and output escaping fixes for the Image URL in the Filterable Gallery widget.
Fix
XSS
