Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
The Essential Addons for Elementor plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 5.9.4
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the Login/Register Element due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on the custom login URL. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 5.9.4, update to a version later than 5.9.4 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the custom login URL and the Login/Register Element to minimize the risk of exploitation. Additionally, restrict permissions to prevent contributor-level and above users from injecting arbitrary web scripts.
Fix
XSS
