CVE-2024-0591

CVSS v3.1

6.1

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions wpDataTables – WordPress Data Table, Dynamic Tables & Table Charts Plugin plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.4.2.2
Description The issue is related to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link. The A parameter is specifically vulnerable to this type of attack.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 3.4.2.2, consider disabling the A parameter until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the plugin's functionality to minimize the risk of arbitrary web script injection. Update to a version later than 3.4.2.2 when available to fully resolve the issue.
