CVE-2024-0623

CVSS v3.1

4.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions VK Block Patterns plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.31.1.1
Description The issue is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the vbp clear patterns cache() function, making it possible for unauthenticated attackers to clear the patterns cache via a forged request. This can be achieved if an attacker can trick a site administrator into performing an action, such as clicking on a link.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 1.31.1.1, consider disabling the vbp clear patterns cache() function until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the plugin's functionality to minimize the risk of cache clearance via forged requests. Avoid using the plugin until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
