Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Formidable Forms – Contact Form, Survey, Quiz, Payment, Calculator Form & Custom Form Builder plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 6.7.2
Description
The issue is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the
update settings function, making it possible for unauthenticated attackers to change form settings and add malicious JavaScript via a forged request. This can be achieved if an attacker can trick a site administrator into performing an action, such as clicking on a link.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 6.7.2, update to a version later than 6.7.2 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
update settings function until a patch is available.
Restrict access to the plugin's settings to minimize the risk of exploitation.Fix
