Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Totolink N350RT version 9.3.5u.6139 B202012
Description
The issue is related to a stack-based buffer overflow in the
loginAuth function of the /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi file. This can be exploited by manipulating the http host argument, allowing a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code. The attack can be launched remotely.Recommendations
For Totolink N350RT version 9.3.5u.6139 B202012, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
loginAuth function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi file to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the http host argument in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
