CVE-2024-0954

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions The Essential Addons for Elementor plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 5.9.7
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting, which occurs due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied protocols. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages. The scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page, specifically through editing context via the data-eael-wrapper-link wrapper.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 5.9.7, update to a version later than 5.9.7 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the editing context feature for users with contributor-level and above permissions until a patch is available. Additionally, restrict the use of the data-eael-wrapper-link wrapper to minimize the risk of exploitation.
