CVE-2024-10017

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions PJW Mime Config plugin for WordPress version 1.0 and earlier
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via SVG File uploads due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows authenticated attackers with Author-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses the SVG file.
Recommendations For PJW Mime Config plugin for WordPress version 1.0 and earlier, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting SVG file uploads or disabling the plugin until a patch is available. Restrict access to the plugin's functionality to minimize the risk of exploitation, especially for users with Author-level access and above.
