Description The Event post plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's events cal shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.

Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 5.9.6, update to the latest version available to secure the site and prevent exploitation. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the events cal shortcode until a patch is available.
