Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Arconix Shortcodes plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.1.13
Description The Arconix Shortcodes plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's 'box' shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 2.1.13, update to the latest version immediately to secure your WordPress site. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the 'box' shortcode until a patch is available. Avoid using the 'box' shortcode in pages until the issue is resolved.
