Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
affiliate-toolkit plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.6.5
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's atkp product shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 3.6.5, update to a version later than 3.6.5 to mitigate the risk. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the atkp product shortcode until a patch is available. Additionally, restrict contributor-level access and above to minimize the risk of exploitation.
Fix
XSS
