CVE-2024-10232

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Group Chat & Video Chat by AtomChat plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.1.5
Description The vulnerability is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting issue due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the plugin's atomchat shortcode. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 1.1.5, update to the latest version immediately to mitigate risks. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the atomchat shortcode to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the atomchat shortcode in pages until the issue is resolved.
