CVE-2024-10555
CVSS v3.1
4.8
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
MaxButtons WordPress plugin versions prior to 9.8.1
Description
The issue is related to the MaxButtons WordPress plugin, which does not properly sanitise and escape some of its settings. This could allow high-privilege users, such as administrators, to perform Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks, even when the unfiltered html capability is disallowed, for example, in a multisite setup.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 9.8.1, update to version 9.8.1 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the ability of high-privilege users to modify plugin settings until the update is applied.
