CVSS v3.1

6.1

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Contact Form 7 – PayPal & Stripe Add-on plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.3.1
Description The issue is related to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting due to the use of add query arg and remove query arg without appropriate escaping on the URL. This allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link. The exploitation is only possible when the leave a review notice is present in the dashboard.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 2.3.1, update to the latest version to mitigate risks. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the dashboard when the leave a review notice is present to minimize the risk of exploitation.
