CVSS v3.1
8.8

| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
PostX plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 4.1.16
Description
The issue is related to a missing capability check on the
install required plugin callback function, allowing authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level access and above to install and activate arbitrary plugins. This can potentially lead to remote code execution if another vulnerable plugin is installed and activated.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 4.1.16, update to a version higher than 4.1.16 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
install required plugin callback function to prevent unauthorized plugin installation and activation. Additionally, restrict the ability of users with Subscriber-level access and above to install and activate plugins to minimize the risk of exploitation.Fix
