CVE-2024-1073

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions SlimStat Analytics plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 5.1.3
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows authenticated attackers with subscriber-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages via the filter array parameter. The injected scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 5.1.3, consider disabling the filter array parameter as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to pages that may have been injected with malicious scripts to minimize the risk of exploitation. Update to a version that includes the necessary input sanitization and output escaping fixes to fully resolve the issue.
