CVE-2024-11038

CVSS v3.1

7.3

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:L
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions WPB Popup for Contact Form 7 versions 1.7.5 and earlier
Description The issue is related to arbitrary shortcode execution via the wpb pcf fire contact form AJAX action. This is due to the software allowing users to execute an action that does not properly validate a value before running do shortcode. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary shortcodes.
Recommendations For versions 1.7.5 and earlier, update to a version later than 1.7.5 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the wpb pcf fire contact form AJAX action until a patch is available. Restrict access to the do shortcode function to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the wpb pcf fire contact form action in the affected plugin until the issue is resolved.
