CVE-2024-11195

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Email Subscription Popup plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.2.22
Description The Email Subscription Popup plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's print email subscribe form shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For Email Subscription Popup plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.2.22, update to a version later than 1.2.22 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the print email subscribe form shortcode until a patch is available. Restrict access to the plugin's settings to minimize the risk of exploitation, ensuring only trusted users with administrator-level access can modify the settings.
