Description
The PPWP – Password Protect Pages plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Sensitive Information Exposure via the WordPress core search feature. This allows unauthenticated attackers to extract sensitive data from posts that have been restricted to higher-level roles, such as administrator.
Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 1.9.5, update to a version later than 1.9.5 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the WordPress core search feature until a patch is available.
Avoid using the WordPress core search feature for sensitive posts until the issue is resolved.
