Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Campaign Monitor Forms by Optin Cat plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.5.7
Description
The issue is related to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting due to the use of
add query arg without proper escaping on the URL. This allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action, such as clicking on a link.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 2.5.7, update to a version later than 2.5.7 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
add query arg function until a patch is available.
Avoid using the add query arg function in URLs that can be manipulated by unauthenticated users until the issue is resolved.Fix
