Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Arena.IM – Live Blogging for real-time events plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 0.3.0
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's 'arenablog' shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For Arena.IM – Live Blogging for real-time events plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 0.3.0: Update to a version higher than 0.3.0 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the 'arenablog' shortcode to minimize the risk of exploitation.
