Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Stars Testimonials plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.3.3
Description
The Stars Testimonials plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Local File Inclusion via the
stars-testimonials-with-slider-and-masonry-grid shortcode. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to include and execute arbitrary PHP files on the server, enabling the execution of any PHP code in those files. This can be used to bypass access controls, obtain sensitive data, or achieve code execution in cases where PHP files can be uploaded and included.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 3.3.3, update the plugin to the latest version to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
stars-testimonials-with-slider-and-masonry-grid shortcode to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using this shortcode until the issue is resolved.Fix
