CVE-2024-11453

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions WordPress Pinterest Plugin versions up to, and including, 1.8.8
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's 'gs pin widget' shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 1.8.8, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the 'gs pin widget' shortcode to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the shortcode until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
