Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Image Hover Effects – Elementor Addon plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.4.1
Description
The issue arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the Image Hover Effects Widget. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages. The injected scripts will execute whenever a user accesses the injected page.
Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 1.4.1, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
