CVE-2024-1168

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions SEOPress – On-site SEO plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 7.9
Description The issue arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied image URLs, specifically the social image URL in the plugin. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 7.9, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the social image URL feature to minimize the risk of exploitation.
