CVE-2024-11688

CVSS v3.1

6.1

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions LaTeX2HTML plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.5.5
Description The LaTeX2HTML plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting via the ver or date parameter due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 2.5.5, consider disabling the ver and date parameters in the LaTeX2HTML plugin until a patch is available. Restrict access to the plugin's functionality to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the ver and date parameters in affected API endpoints until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
