CVE-2024-11728

CVSS v3.1

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions KiviCare – Clinic & Patient Management System (EHR) plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.6.4
Description The issue concerns a SQL Injection vulnerability via the visit type[service id] parameter of the "tax calculated data" AJAX action. This vulnerability is due to insufficient escaping on the user-supplied parameter and a lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. It allows unauthenticated attackers to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries, which can be used to extract sensitive information from the database.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 3.6.4, update to a version higher than 3.6.4 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the tax calculated data AJAX action to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the visit type[service id] parameter in the affected AJAX endpoint until the issue is resolved.
