CVE-2024-11765

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions WordPress Portfolio Plugin versions up to, and including, 1.6.3
Description The WordPress Portfolio Plugin is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's gs portfolio shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For WordPress Portfolio Plugin versions up to, and including, 1.6.3, update to a version higher than 1.6.3 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the gs portfolio shortcode to minimize the risk of exploitation. Additionally, restrict contributor-level access and above to trusted users only.
