CVE-2024-11770

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions The Post Carousel & Slider plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.0.4
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's 'post-cs' shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 1.0.4, update to a version later than 1.0.4 to mitigate the risk. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the 'post-cs' shortcode until a patch is available. Restrict access to pages that use the 'post-cs' shortcode to minimize the risk of exploitation.
