Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Pingmeter Uptime Monitoring plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.0.3
Description
The issue is related to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting via the
wpnonce parameter due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 1.0.3, consider disabling the
wpnonce parameter until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the plugin's functionality to minimize the risk of arbitrary web script injection. Avoid using the wpnonce parameter in sensitive operations until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.XSS
